Emblematic of the timeless elegance that was often expressed in the 1930’s, this black and silver sequinned capelet, is a exquisite homage to vintage glamour.
The gelatin sequins sparkle and shine as if they were made yesterday. I doubt whether this piece was ever even worn, it is in flawless condition.
I believe this must be a passionate collector’s item, and if not, perhaps a treasured piece worn to exclusive occasions from time-to-time.

Absolutely superbly elegant, yet subtle 50’s party dress in moiré rayon (I’m not an expert, but I don’t think the main part of the dress is silk) with a deep black silk velvet front panel.
This was Hardy Amies couture, it is so beautifully made probably for an individual.
The back is so chic too, there is an opening above the zip, and the gathering at the waist is so flattering.
It is around a size 12 are shown below.
It needs a little bit of repair, the hem needs some new stitches, but other than that it is in great condition.
If you love vintage couture, from a renowned label of its time, do not procrastinate, I don’t think it will last long.
This 1920’s brimless cloche of black silk and rhinestone cloche is one of the many iconic pieces from ‘The Banana Room’, that I don’t think Sophie ever wanted to sell.
The 20’s and 30’s were her favourite. She had this piece in the window for many years, on the original ceramic crest I am showing it on here.(nfs)

It is the most stunning piece. It has faded a little at the front, and the silk is a little distressed there, but other than that, it was probably only ever worn a few times, and is in great condition.
Whether you knew and loved The Banana Room or not, this is a collectors item, and probably should be in a museum.

This gracious and subtle (I think) late Victorian dress front/bib/appliqué is in great condition apart from the small issues which I have shown in detail here. The sequins look like a mixture of gelatin and metal. The netting they are mounted in is sturdy.
My sense is that it was taken off an evening gown perhaps to be used on another gown.

1930's Art Deco clip, is well made, (probably French), and elegantly detailed clip on with paste set in chrome-plated rhodium.
Some of the stones are distressed or discoloured with age. I have restored it so that its stable, but have left some of it in its original aged condition, and it has that irreplaceable 'soul' quality about it.
