Absolutely superbly elegant, yet subtle 50’s party dress in moiré rayon (I’m not an expert, but I don’t think the main part of the dress is silk) with a deep black silk velvet front panel.
This was Hardy Amies couture, it is so beautifully made probably for an individual.
The back is so chic too, there is an opening above the zip, and the gathering at the waist is so flattering.
It is around a size 12 are shown below.
It needs a little bit of repair, the hem needs some new stitches, but other than that it is in great condition.
If you love vintage couture, from a renowned label of its time, do not procrastinate, I don’t think it will last long.
